Isaac Nathan was born on July 24th at 1:16 pm 6lbs 10 oz 20 inches. I had made an appointment for the 24th for the doctors to help me out with getting labor going. On the 23rd I think I worked myself a bit too much. I planted flowers made 120 cookies and chased after 2 one year old boys. I was having a bit of pain here and there – thought I just needed to go to the bathroom. We had the elders quorum, high priests, and young men at our home that night helping us put what was left of the tree and other debris into the dumpster. After they left and I was cleaning up the kitchen putting other things away the pain just kept getting worse. I really didn’t think it was labor contractions, the thought crossed my mind but they just didn’t seem like the other contractions I had with Makenzie and Evan.
After putting Makenzie and Evan to bed – I told Nate that I might be having contractions but wasn’t quite sure but they were very painful. I would try walking around – that didn’t really help much, laying down made them hurt worse, sitting was no good either. I was in tears with them so I told Nate that I may want to go to the hospital later. We called Charlene to see if she wanted to come up, knowing she had to work in the morning and couldn’t take the day off. She seemed before that she really wanted to be there so I gave her the option first – we called her at 11 and she was here by midnight. I called my doc to see what he wanted me to do as I was going to be laboring for a VBAC. He told me to try and rest that I was in early labor. My contractions were 2, 3, 5 mins apart and lasting 50 to 1.5 mins- He told me to wait until they were regular and steady. I laid down – although that was very painful the contractions slowed to 8 mins apart and I was able to get sleep. However whenever I moved it would cause another one to start – by 5 I decided to go to the hospital – we got there at 5:30 checked in hung out in the triage for 2 hours – I was so worried when I got there they would tell me I was at a 2 – luckly I was a 4 or almost a 4. They decided to let me hang there for an hour and check to see if I made any progress and if I did they would keep me if not I would go home with some loritab – well I made it to a 4+ so they kept me. That was around 7:30- At 9:30 I was checked again at at a 6- but during a contraction at 5.5 – my doc broke my water and the next contraction was horrible.
I know I wanted to go all natural but I was so worried I wouldn’t relax in between contractions that I got the epi – I was check again later and the nurse said I was at a 7- I could see my VBAC was a great possibility I was very excited. My doc decided to do an internal monitor on the baby – we kept loosing his heart rate and because of the prior c-section they wanted to make sure all was okay – Well this little guy did not like the idea and he went in to some bad stress- so bad they hurried up gave me a shot to stop/slow contractions, pills for a possible c-section, and had me sign the waiver. Oh they did prior to this start pitocen he was handling it well. After he recovered from that we started the pitocen again - very low. He was doing alright. My doc said if he scares us again they will do the c-section. And wouldn’t you know I was completely at peace with that.
Isaac’s heart rate started to decline quite a bit with each contraction. So off I went to have the repeat c-section. It went so much better this time around. My little guy came out great no problems, he got to hang out with me while I got cleaned up and put back together- I got to nurse him right away.

Isaac had jaundice pretty bad he had to go back to the hospital the first 2 days and get blood drawn. Luckly by the second day his levels went down he didn't need to go under the lights. On the 31st he went to the doctor and had already gained 14oz- he is over his birth weight no more formula for him. He is doing great and is sooo stinking sweet.
